Body Buffer for better recovery

BFF Body Buffer

Injuries, pain and aches are all part of the game for a runner. We try to run and not get injured, we try to push it, but not get muscle aches, yet when we are training and running long distances these things are almost inevitable. Now the Body Buffer is the answer for all our troubles. It can help you feel better and heal quicker when you are injured. It can clear up those muscle aches you get from pushing yourself just a little bit too hard. Plus it can help you recover quicker during your training so you can get out there running again and build up your training faster then normal.

When I was looking for something to help clear up little pains and give some relief after long training runs, I found the Body Buffer. It was at the Expo of my first marathon where they had a big booth set up so you could try it out. I had been training hard and had to travel a long distance to get there, so when I used the Body Buffer for the first time it gave a wonderful relief. It’s rotating disc can feel smooth and relaxing or when you push a little more in to it can really get to the spot where you need it. It massages your body deep and smooth, but without the pounding you get from most other massage devices.

The Body Buffer is made in partnership with Olympic runner Jeff Galloway, who endorses the machine as "an amazing device that invigorates tired/achy muscles, speeds recovery and keeps muscles injury free".

At the Expo where I bought the device I met Jeff who was very excited the Body Buffer.

Tattoo before and after BFF

The Buffer comes with different accessories like a massage mitt, a lotion mitt that you can use to rub lotion on while massaging and a buffsmooth exfoliator that can be used to clean the skin, get rid of unwanted hairs and even brighten up old tattoos. I don’t have any tattoos that I can test this soon myself, but from the looks of the before and after photo they have on their website it looks like this could give some new shine to your old running tattoos.

From all the different devices I’ve tried over the years I don’t believe there is another massager that does what the Body Buffer does. It can get deep to where you need the relief and give you a tough massage while still being gentle to your body or you can use it for a nice smooth massage and help the blood flow in your muscles to stimulate faster recovery.

Personally I haven’t used the exfoliator or tried to make my tattoos look nicer, but they are nice extras to have for an already otherwise great device.
